Our clients lived in their home for almost a decade with their two children, so they had a strong sense of what wasn’t working: no mudroom, poor storage, poor lighting
and a main floor that felt closed-off and dated.Our clients love to cook, but felt frustrated
with consistently bumping into one another as they navigated their way around the tight quarters
of the kitchen. They also enjoy frequent entertaining and are known to host regular game nights.
Feeling cut off from their guests while preparing in the kitchen was never ideal and left them
feeling even more frustration. Additionally, they both have home/office hybrid work situations
and both have international teams which requires them to host meetings at sometimes ungodly
EST hours. It was important that the new home configuration support their respective need to do
so without interrupting family sleep patterns, or the patterns of daily life. Ultimately our clients wanted a home that felt happy, quirky, and colourful—one that reflected their family’s
personality and addressed their specific utility needs.
