Condo Gut Renovation

Size: 697 Square Feet

Location: Cambridge, Ontario

Completion: 2025

Our client’s main goal was to significantly downside without compromising on comfort, utility, or style. Their love of travel inspired this move. They wanted a small, intentional home-base, somewhere they would look forward to returning to. The “ask“ was to create a moody, European inspired space that feels cosy and layered.

Given the small square footage, creative storage solutions were a must. In order to achieve their goal the condo they purchased required a complete gut. As is typical in condo buildings, all existing walls were required to remain, so we altered everything besides the wall locations. We replaced all the flooring & tiles, millwork, doors, trim, plumbing fixtures, and completely furnished the space. The furnishings included multiple pieces of custom furniture; the sectional, coffee table, credenza with integrated shoe storage and dining banquette.

The result is a space that is mostly neutral, with a few intentional pops of colour, coming from art and accessories. Texture is a big theme in the space, whether it be the fluting on the peninsula, the rich jute rug in the living room, or the linen/velvet fabric on the headboard. We wanted to be deliberate and intentional with each element that appears in this home, it was truly an exercise of quality over quantity.
